Emily Hartford is an actor living in New York City.  Originally hailing from Middleboro, Massachusetts, Emily earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Theatre Arts Performance (summa cum laude) from Hofstra University on Long Island.  She is a founding member of Rabbit Hole Ensemble, a Brooklyn-based non-profit theatre company which has been presenting work in Manhattan and Brooklyn since September 2005.  Emily is a Resident Artist at Rabbit Hole, and also serves on the Management Team as Director of Development.
 
Emily is active in New York’s theatre and film industries.  She has appeared in numerous productions with Manhattan Children’s Theatre, and in 2006 made her Off-Broadway debut with Mirror Repertory Company in The Contrast.  Last year, Emily performed at the nationally recognized Wellfleet Harbor Actors Theatre (Cape Cod, MA), with Rabbit Hole’s production of The Night of Nosferatu.  Emily’s first feature film, The Weekend, has been completed by Dream Factory Productions, and she recently filmed two short films with Existential Entertainment, which will eventually comprise the feature, Casual Encounters.
 
Emily also loves puppetry (Jim Henson has been her hero since the golden years of Sesame Street).  She has operated puppets in shows with Manhattan Children’s Theatre, Rabbit Hole Ensemble, and Urban Stages, and designed shadow puppets for Urban Stages and Rabbit Hole Ensemble--see her ‘Puppets’ page for photos!
